Registered Nurse Summary

POWER is seeking a Registered Nurse for our brand new 21 bed inpatient detox and rehab facility located in East End Hospital, Wilkinsburg. We are looking for a motivated RN to join our team to provide trauma-informed care, with an emphasis towards compassion and dignity, for our clients. If you are looking to be a part of an organization that strives to incorporate wellness in all areas of our clients lives, this position is right for you!  Duties include: assisting doctor with physicals, medication administration, and assessing clients in withdrawal management unit. RNs will also collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure clients are meeting their individualized treatment goals and needs.

This shift is 12 hours (7:00pm-7:00am or 7:00am - 7:00pm) with a shift differential offered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Provides daily supervision and management of nursing staff members. Participates in employee development, disciplinary action, mentoring and supervision. Recommends and implements approved corrective actions. 
  • Performs RN duties as defined in the RN job description.  
  • Assures all new nursing staff are appropriately oriented and trained. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies.  
  • Assists Program Manager with maintaining and updating all clinical policies and procedures. 
  • Interacts with patients, physicians, and staff to resolve issues. Provides clinical expertise to clinical staff in regard to patient care. 
  • Participates, develops and implements performance and/or quality improvement initiatives.  
  • Responsible for the clinical operations of the Nursing Units including ensuring compliance with POWER’s policies and procedures, practice standards and regulations. 
  • Maintaining adequate nursing coverage to provide safe, quality nursing care. 
  • Completes rounds on the units to observe patients to determine if nursing needs are being met so positive clinical outcomes are obtained.  
  • Establish and maintain positive public relations with physical health providers and specialists by serving as an ambassador of the POWER organization.  
  • Maintain compliance with the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs licensing regulations and contract requirements, including the confidentially of drug and alcohol clients.  
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements (Education & Experience):  

  • Valid PA RN license.  
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred. 
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.  
  • Awareness and understanding of regulating bodies (CARF and DDAP)  
  • Experience in Substance Use and Co-occurring Disorders.  
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws, Confidentiality, state licensing regulations, CPR, AED and First Aid, other trainings as required.  
  • Able to effectively meet the needs of the client, positive relationships with internal and external customers and contributing to the success of POWER.  
  • Excellent computer skills.  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Understand and support a trauma-informed system of care.  
  • Support POWER’s mission with a sensitivity of cultural diversity and workplace harmony.  
  • Ability to secure FBI, Act 33 and 34 clearances.  
  • Working Conditions  
  • Working in POWER’s inpatient facility and on various shifts.  
  • Ability to work the hours necessary to complete the work.  

Starting hourly rate $31.00/hour depending on experience and education
