Additional Information
Sleep is a powerful but often overlooked factor in epilepsy care. Dr. Joanna Fong-Isariyawongse will review the fundamentals of healthy sleep, examine the complex bidirectional relationship between sleep and seizures, and highlight how sleep deprivation can exacerbate epilepsy while epilepsy itself disrupts normal sleep. Common sleep disorders in people with epilepsy will be discussed, along with practical, evidence-based strategies to improve sleep quality and support better seizure control.
