RECOGNIZING AND MANAGING PEDIATRIC RHEUMATIC DISEASE AT SCHOOL

Join Michelle Hess, BSN, RN, CPN from the Penn State Health Division of Pediatric Rheumatology for a webinar on common pediatric rheumatologic conditions encountered in school-aged children. This session will allow participants to:

• Recognize key signs and symptoms that may suggest a rheumatic disease and warrant medical follow up.
• Understand how pediatric rheumatic diseases can affect a student's physical, emotional and academic functioning.
• Describe the role of the school nurse in monitoring symptoms, supporting treatment plans and coordinating care.
• Apply practical strategies to support students with rheumatologic conditions in the school setting.
