Survey: Looking for Insight from PA School Nurses about the Opioid Crisis' Impact on Children
Posted over 6 years ago by Mary louise Neyhart
The Suspected Child Abuse & Neglect (SCAN), Pa Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics is asking school nurses to take a brief survey on their encounters with students who were present at an opioid-related overdose of an adult (e.g., child’s parent, caregiver, family member). They previously canvassed EMS personnel and the more than 500 responses were very eye-opening, prompting a more extensive search to better understand how these life experiences for children are being brought into Pennsylvania's schools.
As a school nurse, you are an essential caregiver to this Commonwealth's children and we want to, we need to hear from you. Please take this 5 minute survey to help put a spotlight on the opioid crisis’ impact on children https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/OPIOIDSCHOOLNurses
In conjunction with the Center for Children’s Justice and Emergency Medical Services, the survey information will be presented to the Governor’s Opioid Command Center Coordination team in February.
Be assured that this survey, which we hope will encourage you to provide direct insight about your experiences, will not result in your identity being disclosed. Instead any information gleaned will be shared in a way that does not identify individuals.
Thank you for everything you do to be present to and protective of Pennsylvania's children!
