My name is JJ Vulopas, and I am a 2019 graduate of the Wharton School at Upenn. I have life-threatening food allergies. While I was in college, I had worked with some of the nation’s top minds to create a series of books and school resources to raise awareness about food allergies in an authentic and all-inclusive way. I firmly believe that we must empower young people to define themselves by who they are and who they can be, not by who they’re not!

With the help of Red Sneakers for Oakley, a national non profit organization that raises awareness about food allergies, I am ready to launch, PA CAN! — an initiative that will supply school nurses with authentic resources in each of the 1,600-plus public elementary schools in Pennsylvania all for free.

Red Sneakers for Oakley is hosting a PA Can launch reception at the Merion Cricket Club 2 p.m. this Sunday, September 15. Dr. Jonathan Spergel, Chief of the Allergy Section at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, will speak at the event, as will JJ Vulopas and Red Sneakers for Oakley’s co-founders, Merrill and Bobby Debbs.

Pa Can will transform food allergy awareness in this state!  I’d love for you to attend the event as my special guest. To reserve your space, email me at jj@thelandofcan.com. The event is free.

Attached is a press release. What we start here in Pennsylvania, we will hope to duplicate across the nation!

I have a special place in my heart for school nurses, which is why I am reaching out personally to school nurses. It was because of the vision of my elementary school nurse that I was able to thrive and become the person I am today!
