An Opportunity with The Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health in State College

Posted almost 4 years ago by Lori Kelley

The Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health in State College received a CDC grant from the Department of Health to reduce COVID incidence and increase COVID vaccinations in rural Pennsylvania counties.  Before taking on the role of Program Manager with this new program, I was a fellow school nurse so I understand the power and capabilities of school nursing.  As we begin this journey, we are looking for school nurses in the counties listed below who are interested in leading or participating in a public health, community driven process in your community.  This may take 1-2 hours per month of your time.  Please email me at rcf5257@psu.edu if you are interested or have any questions.

Based on a data analysis, the following counties were identified as rural with a high incidence of COVID and low vaccination rates, so we will begin our work in these counties (we will move on to other counties in the near future):

  • Bradford
  • Bedford
  • Fulton
  • Huntingdon
  • Juniata
  • Lawrence
  • Mifflin
  • Potter
  • Union
  • Warren

We look forward to partnering with you.

Take care,

Rachel
