Survey Request: Medical Cannabis Policy in K-12 Schools: School Nurse Perspectives
Posted over 3 years ago by Holly Verderame
Dear fellow school nurse,
My name is Alison Jochen, and I am a doctoral student at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. In fulfillment of my EdD program, I am conducting a research study entitled: Medical Cannabis Policy in K-12 Schools: School Nurse Perspectives. The purpose of this study is to investigate the perspectives of all school nurses in states of varying medical cannabis policies regarding the administration of medical marijuana in the school environment for those students who would need it administered in the K-12 school setting. The findings of this study may assist other schools nationwide to develop policies for medical marijuana administration to students, as medical marijuana legislation is continually changing. Your perceptions and experience are important to this area of medical cannabis research. Participation in this study will include a survey of 21 multiple choice questions that can be completed in approximately 10 minutes. A potential risk you may encounter by participation is minimal emotional discomfort when considering questions related to medical marijuana distribution in schools.
As a thank-you for participating in this research study, you may choose to have the survey results provided to you once the study is complete. If you chose to participate, you are free at any point during the survey to discontinue or withdraw your consent to agree to the study. Your participation in this study will remain confidential. If you have any concerns regarding this study, you may contact Dr. Shala Davis, the chair for the Institutional Review Board at East Stroudsburg University at: sdavis@esu.edu.Thank you for your time and for considering helping me contribute to this field of research!
Sincerely,
Alison Jochen, MEd., CSN, RN, BSN
