Epilepsy in School: Training for School Nurses

Description: This FREE training will acquaint school nurses with new seizure classifications, seizure first-aid, and latest treatments and devices to allow them a better understanding of epilepsy and implications for care. The training will also present the social, psychological, and cognitive impacts that epilepsy may have for a student. There will be time at the end for an interactive Q&A. A certificate of completion and epilepsy resources will be emailed after the training. Act 48 credits given.

Session 2: Seizure Detection and Alarms:

This webinar will focus on different seizure alert watches, devices, and apps. We will also discuss the role of service dogs. Our speaker, Sarah Tefft, has worked at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for the past 8 years with the past
two as a nurse practitioner. She is an active volunteer with EFEPA.
