Please Help with this Important Research!

Posted over 2 years ago by Lori Kelley

Hello,

We are hoping to learn school nurse thoughts on how best to introduce interventions for type 1 diabetes management for children in school. Participation will include a one-time virtual interview and three short online surveys.

School nurses with at least one year of experience in their role are eligible to participate. We anticipate the interview will take about 45-60 minutes to complete and it will be recorded. The online surveys should take no more than 15 minutes.

Your participation would be completely voluntary. Following your participation, you will receive $30 as a token of our appreciation.  All information collected will be de-identified. Your interview transcript/recording and survey responses will be linked with a unique code and stored separately from any private information.

There are minimal risks to participating in this project. The primary risk would be breach of confidentiality. We will not ask you specific details about your school or school district. All responses will be stored in a separate file from your contact information.

There are no specific benefits to you for participating in the study, but you will be contributing to the greater understanding of how we can best implement new diabetes programs in the school setting.

You can stop participating in the study at any time by contacting the primary investigator (Dr. Christine March) in writing by email at Christine.eklund@chp.edu or ending the interview while it is taking place. If you choose to leave the study, any data already collected may still be used. If you choose not to participate, or you do not complete the study, this will have no effect on your relationship with Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Diabetes Center.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Dr. Christine March (PI) at 412-692-9156 or Christine.eklund@chp.edu

Take care,
