School Nurse Mentorship Program

Posted almost 2 years ago by Rachel Griel

Dear School Nurses,

We are excited about our partnership with Penn State PRO Wellness to pilot a School Nurse Mentorship Program in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The initial interest we have received from many of you is much appreciated.

We are still actively seeking newer school nurses to take part in the program. Do you know any school nurses who are in the first few years of their career? If so, please forward this message to them.

This free one-year program will connect experienced school nurses with those in the first few years of their careers to create opportunities for collaboration and professional development. Additional benefits of participating include free Act 48 opportunities and registration to the 2024 PASNAP Conference.

Registration is open to those who meet the following qualifications:

Mentee Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a degree in another field with unrestricted registered nurse (RN) licensure, and meet one of the following criteria:
  • Under an emergency certification, pursuing certification
  • Have graduated from a CSN program within the last three years or are a school nurse with less than three years of experience (Nurses who do not meet this criteria may still be eligible under certain circumstances. Please complete the interest form below to learn more.)
  • Must be from a school district in Bradford, Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Wayne, or Wyoming counties

Interested school nurses can click the link below to complete an interest form and then will be contacted by Penn State PRO Wellness with more information.
