Learning Objectives:

  • Ability to explain what human trafficking is and how it may present in patients/students.
  • Identify health concerns for human trafficking survivors.

a) Health concerns- human trafficking victims have unique health care concerns, their injuries/ailments may present differently or be harder to treat if they are not identified correctly.

  • How to Screen for Human Trafficking using WRC screening tool.
  • Ability to understand victim services (like WRC), when to call and how to utilize services for patients/students/staff.
  • Gain ability to successfully have conversations with human trafficking survivors or potential victims about human trafficking, resources available and how it can affect their health. And successfully follow through on next steps for patient care.

Social Workers
