Dr. Olympia and His Wife, Jodi Brady-Olympia, Release a New School Health Textbook

Posted about 1 month ago by Lori Kelley

Happy Summer PASNAP!

Hope you have a well-deserved break planned for the upcoming months.

Just wanted to announce our new book release Clinical Considerations in School-based Health (Springers Nature Publishers) in the next few weeks. The medical textbook was co-edited by my wife, Jodi Brady-Olympia, a Pediatric Adolescent Medicine physician at Penn State Children's Hospital.

This book is dedicated to school nurses throughout the country. This book will provide school-based health practitioners a comprehensive, “go-to” resource to access evidence-based recommendations for the assessment/screening, triage, initial stabilization and treatment, and recognition of acute and chronic conditions and disease processes often seen in students. It aims to utilize modern methods of learning to improve retention and implementation, such as algorithms, mnemonics, case studies, tables, and lists. Authors have been recruited, both regionally and nationally, with expertise in school-based health, general pediatrics, developmental pediatrics, subspecialty pediatrics, mental and behavioral health, infectious diseases, sports medicine, emergency medicine, and adolescent medicine.

Digital and hard copies of our book are available at the Springer Publishers website,

https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-031-85765-2

as well as Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, Books-A-Million, Walmart, and other electronic platforms.

As always, thank you for your dedication to our communities and our students.

With appreciation,

Robert and Jodi Olympia
