The Epilepsy Foundation of America in collaboration with the Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania invites you to participate in the Focus Group Recruitment Launch of the Community-Engaged Health Equity Research in Neuroscience Initiative or HERN.
Please join us for this lunchtime hybrid meeting starting at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 20th, 2026, at Tacony Baptist Church on 4715 Disston Street, Philadelphia, PA 19135.
The purpose of this meeting is to convene community partners and the HERN Community Advisors to learn how to utilize the Recruitment Toolkit and other marketing resources to recruit Blacks and African Americans living with epilepsy in the Philadelphia area to participate in virtual focus groups and interviews to discuss healthcare and epilepsy-related disparities.
For those of you able to join us in person who lives outside of the Philadelphia area, travel support and reimbursement will be provided. Lunch will be provided at the meeting, in addition to marketing materials to support recruitment efforts.
We will handle your lodging accommodations so please let us know your check in and check out dates in the RSVP below. We will be staying at the Four Points by Sheraton (9461 Roosevelt Boulevard, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19114). You will be reimbursed for your flights and you must submit your flight receipt to us.
If you are unable to participate in person, you may do so via Zoom.
If you are traveling to Philly for the meeting and require a hotel room, please let us know by Friday, January 30th.
